The blue lagoon 💙

Do you ever dream about a beautiful island somewhere in the blue lagoon? I dream about it even when I’m not sleeping 💙. On my dream vacation last winter, I travelled to the two islands Maui and Honolulu, Oahu in Hawaii. It was soo beautiful! I’m always daydreaming to go with the waves. If in May or June I am stranded on an island in the blue lagoon, this is my summer luxury that I would take with me:

💙 La Perla mare: the swim collection is beautiful in blue, very suitable for il dolce far niente on a pure white beach.

Paris s/s collections 2018

Oh la la, the spring-summer collections 2018 presented in the city of love and macarons are très chique, feminine and sensual. The s/s collection 2018 by Saint Laurent presented at the Tour d’Eiffel was beautiful and breathtaking. The sculptured silhouette was small and chique, but also the mini dresses with poofy volume and delicate fabrics created a beautiful collection for the femme sensuelle and innocent. The spring-summer trend of (one or two) long earrings was seen in many s/s collections in Paris.

Elie Saab presented a beautiful collection for the modern Amazone. Lanvin went back to its roots with the cool minimalist collection of clean lines and sleek mini dresses in black and blue. Dior‘s s/s collection by Maria Grazia Chiuri, inspired by the art of Niki de Saint Phalle, showed mini and long dresses in tule with an animated or written story to tell. Another s/s collection for 2018 that was chique as ever, was from Giambattista Valli, Valentino and Altuzzara with lovely dresses of artwork.

Some women own a naturally beautiful style 🌺 You may find them within your family and friends, in magazines, in old movies, in fashion blogs, and in the streets and boutiques of beautiful cities like Barcelona, New York, Milan and Firenze. These beautiful, classy women are truly an inspiration to me. And also the cool kids, models, Brooklyn babies and fashion bloggers inspire me with their casual coolness. I love the mix of classic elements with my own casual and cool style. The new chic is presented by cool and comfy clothes in beautiful silhouettes, soft fabrics and textures. For example, a beige cashmere dress, a soft white tee with a Liu jo jeans and Valentino or Acquazzura heels, a white knit dress from Twin-Set or a beige silk dress from Patrizia Pepe with a denim jacket. Daily luxuries summer season 💙🍉

It is June and it is time to dream about all the beautiful clothes to wear in the summer 💙. The new summer collections that are in store now make me dream of sun, sand and the sea. Dressed in my new daily luxuries, I’m good to go to the beach or to enjoy a summer breeze in the city. This summer, every summer, I’m thinking of beautiful white, soft beige and lovely turquoise to wear. And this summer, too, I’ll find new daily luxuries in my favorite summer colours to have and to hold.

Daily luxury is the little, beautiful things that inspire you and make you happy on a daily basis. Daily rituals become more beautiful and soothing when you take your time. Don’t wait to use the china for a special day, or to save those beautiful clothes and your favorite shoes for an occasion. I love to wear my Liu jo jeans and my Choo’s on a daily basis, drink illy espresso and eat dolci all day, write and read about fashion and foreign affairs, learn Spanish and Italian, swim and surf, and surround myself with my family and friends. Always try to find time to do what you love on a daily basis. Dream and love the daily luxury in your life 💙.

Barca: city on the beach 💙

Barcelona is a beautiful city on the beach. One day you can explore the beautiful architecture of the city and the Mediterranean culture, and the other day you can have a lovely day on the beach. The city is divided in several barrios or districts, from the chique and beautiful Eixample, the little and authentic streets of Borne and Gracia to the beaches and chirrinquitos of Barcelonetta.

To begin with, you need to go to the Passeig de Gracia to shop, where you will find beautiful boutiques and little bakeries for macarons with caffe con leche (don’t miss the dolci at Épicerie in Via Pau Claris). In the Passeig de Gracia you will find beautiful architecture and the fairytale buildings from Gaudí (Casa Batillo and la Pedrera). In the little streets of Gracia you will find many authentic tapas restaurants, while in Borne there is a mix of Mediterranean and international restaurants and local boutiques. A beautiful example is the delicious fusion restaurant named Ikibana with Japanese and Brazilian dishes (urumaki sushi with strawberry and palmhearts mm). While it is much fun to go stand up paddle surfing in Barcelonetta, and to chill in one of the chirrinquitos on the beach (try the french toast and fresh juices at Surf House BCN and the sweets and juices at Rosaria’s), the beach in Mar bella is more beautiful to swim and chill. When you come to Barca, don’t forget to visit these beautiful places in the city and the beach:

The Passeig de Gracia and its beautiful shops and boutiques, for example Loewe, Chanel, Burberry, Liu Jo, Max Mara, Bulgari, Tiffany’s, Jimmy Choo, Maje, Mango, and Zara home. Liu Jo is in Bulevard Rosa, Paseo de Gracia 51 (www.liujo.it).
The beautiful architecture from Gaudí can be seen in the Passeig de Gracia 43 and 92; Casa Batillo and Casa Milà (la Pedrera). Don’t forget to go to Parc Güell as well for the beautiful mozaic and the city view (in Gracia).
Épicerie, try the dolci and macarons in this lovely patisserie in Via Pau Claris 145.
Ikibana, best sushi restaurant in Borne 💙 with a fusion from Japanese and Brazilian cuisine, in Passeig Picasso 32 (www.ikibana.es).
Mar bella is a beautiful beach in Barca to swim and chill 💙.
Maka maka in Barcelonetta for delicious fries with wasabi mayonaise mm, in Passeig de Joan de Borbó 76 (www.makamaka.es).
Cdlc club and restaurant for your chique days and nights out 💙 in Passeig maritim 32 (www.cdlcbarcelona.com).
Sitges, little place on the beach you need to visit (near Barcelona).
For summer and beachy days, you can go stand up paddle surfing in Barceloneta (surfboards are available at Boardriders in Carrer de la Drassana 10, or Locals in Passeig Joan de Borbó 80-84). No passa nadaa💙.

X-mas wishes

This x-mas i need a few things from Santa. Even though I am blessed with so many beautiful things in my life, I do have a few more things on my x-mas wish list. Daily luxuries and beautiful things that I don’t really need, but would love to have. First of all, I would love to have a beautiful sequined or white lace dress as seen in the lovely collections by Cushnie et Ochs, Dior, Chanel and Valentino. And a chique christmas evening to wear it to. Secondly, I would love to have chic, beige sandals with straps, as seen in the collections of Valentino, Acquazurra, and Jimmy Choo. I’ll wear this pair of daily luxuries from winter to summer, as nude heels are also beautiful with all things blue, white, denim and beige (that is my complete wardrobe). Not to forget my last x-mas wish, I would love to have a bracelet or ring from the new Tiffany’s T collection. The minimialistic and chic items in this beautiful collection are daily essentials, each and every one of them, and can be worn day and night. This x-mas I’ll dream of some new beautiful daily luxury that i’ll love all summer and winter, day and night. I hope you will have a beautiful x-mas and new year, too!
